Yeah Uhuru Peak...5895 meters ABSL!

Yeah Tara and Dwan made it to the roof top of Africa! What an incredible experience. Although we truly cherished each and every moment on the mountain (of Kilimanjaro...for those of you just tuning in), we are very glad to be down and clean...after nearly 8 days of not bathing (and we were disgusting). We successfully attempted the 7 day machame route led by our expert guide Festo (who is the besto)... and not more than 20 years of age. In summary we had several days of beautiful hiking with stunning scenery and unimaginable viewpoints, one never ending day of exhausting and extremely physically and mentally challenging ascent followed by 2 days of almost torturous downhill. All in all we are incredibly thankful to have summitted the mountain with such great memories and new found friends.

We have several pics to share: one just before leaving, one mid way up, the money shot, and finally our exhilaration of actually being done.

Can't wait to tell more, off to Zanzibar tomorrow for some much needed rest and relaxation. (oh and FYI, Zanzibar lost electricity about a month ago with no fix yet...so we will be unable to email until Cambodia in about a week). Cheers!

Love, Tara and Dwan
